Ukraine Seeking Energy Cooperation with Iran

Ukraine is seeking to launch joint ventures with Iran in oil, gas, petrochemicals, and agriculture sectors, said Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Regional Development, Construction and Municipal Economy, Gennadiy Zubko, the Tehran Times reported.

Currently, Ukraine’s Minister of Energy and Coal Industry, Vladimir Demchishin, said that Iran’s oil and gas could be transited to Europe via Ukraine. Moreover, he added that “Ukraine could collaborate with Iran in modernizing its techniques of oil and gas excavation and shipment.” Ukrainian companies are also poised to help Iran in developing its hydroelectric power plants and coal industry.

The two countries are interested in boosting their bilateral ties also through collaborating over infrastructure projects, including plane manufacturing, tunnel building, and subway constructing.
