EGAS, Eni in Negotiation to Speed Up Linking Shorouk to Grid

The Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Co. (EGAS) is holding intensive meetings with Italian Eni officials to speed up linking Eni's new discovery Zohr field, in the Shorouk concession to the national gas grid, reported Daily News Egypt.

Khaled Abdel Badie, Chairman of EGAS, explained that while originally Egypt planned to rent a fourth Fuel Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU), the Shorouk discovery has deemed the move unnecessary, reported Egypt Oil & Gas.
EGAS and ENI to Discuss Shorouk Development Plan

Eng Khalid Abd alibda, chairman of the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS), told Egypt Oil & Gas that there is currently a joint working group between EGAS and the Italy's ENI, to review the development plan for the Shorouk Mediterranean discovery, which includes four production wells. Production is expected to begin, January of 2017, producing an estimated 700 mcf of gas per day.
