Texas Investigates Wells Linked to Seismic Activity

The Railroad Commission of Texas has directed the Commission’s Hearings Division to initiate proceedings requiring the operators of two disposal wells in the area of Azle, Texas to show cause why the injection permits for the wells should not be cancelled and the wells ordered shut-in due to an alleged connection raised by new seismic research between ongoing operation of the wells and seismic activity in the vicinity.
Pricing Data Packages for Concessions: BENEFICIAL OR INEFFECTIVE?

A complaint raised recently by energy industry insiders in Egypt concerns the way bidding rounds take place for new concessions; namely that the bidders are required to buy the preliminary data packages needed for oil and gas exploration upon bidding for a concession.
