Eni CEO sees $50 billion Mozambique gas investment

Italian oil and gas company Eni will invest $50 billion developing its huge Mozambique natural gas discovery with a view to exporting the gas to Asian markets, its Chief Executive Paolo Scaroni said in an interview Friday after a visit to East Africa.

Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller and Eni CEO Paolo Scaroni met Wednesday in Moscow at the headquarters of the Russian company. The parties discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation in the energy sector within their Strategic Partnership Agreement.
