PM Ismail Praised BP’s Operations in Egypt

Egypt's Prime Minister, Sherif Ismail, received British Petroleum’s (BP) CEO Production, Bernard Looney, and Regional President of BP North Africa, Hesham Mekawi, in the presence of the Egyptian Minister of Petroleum, Tarek El Molla, in April, to discuss the company's growing activities in the oil and gas industry in the country.
First Oil Well 1,500 Meters Deep North of Damietta

The first experimental offshore well has been drilled as deep as 1,500 meters north of Damietta in the Mediterranean as research indicated oil and gas reserves in this area, according to a report Petroleum Minister Eng. Abdullah Ghorab received from Eng. Mohamed Shoaib, the Head of the Gas Holding Company on means to promote oil and gas finds.
