MENA Assets Boost Pertamina’s Oil Outputs
Upstream assets in Algeria, Iraq and Malaysia have pushed oil and gas production by Indonesia's Pertamina Internasional Eksplorasi and Produksi (PIEP) to surpass its target in 2016 by 15%.

Angola Becomes Top Chinese Crude Supplier
Angola beat out Saudi Arabia and Russia in July to become China's largest crude supplier for the first time in 2016, as the Asian country's import amounted to 1.11mb/d of Angolan crude, marking a surge of 23.3% over the same period last year.

Aramco to Reduce Stake in Indonesian Refinery Upgrade
Saudi Arabia's oil and gas giant, Aramco, has asked to cut its shares in a proposed $5.5b refinery project in Indonesia to 30% from 45%.

Cobalt, Sonangol Deal Falls Through
The US firm, Cobalt International Energy Inc, announced that the proposed $1.75b sale of a 40% stake in two offshore oil blocks in Angola to the state oil company, Sonangol, has automatically ended, after failing to obtain government approvals within the last 12-months.

Uganda Selects Nigerian, Australian Firms for Exploration Rights
Uganda's Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development said that his country has chosen Nigerian firms WalterSmithPetroman Oil Limited, Oranto Petroleum International, and Niger Delta Petroleum Resources, together with Australia’s Armour Energy Limited to join negotiation on Uganda's production sharing agreements for oil exploration licenses covering a total of 3,000 square km.

Tanzania to Become Regional Oil Trading Hub
Tanzania's minister for Industry, Trade and Investments, Charles Mwijage, stated that his country is examining the possibility of building an oil-trading hub in Tanga to supply fuel to east and central African regions in DR Congo, Burundi and Rwanda as well as other neighboring countries.

India’s Oil Imports from Iran Grew 37%
India’s oil imports from Iran rose to its highest level in five years, amounting to 523,000 b/d in July, which is a 37% jump from June's volume, and more than double that of the same period in 2015.

India, US Reduce Nigerian Crude Imports
Both India and the US have reduced their Nigerian crude oil imports by 43% and 53% respectively, a call that translated to a minimum loss of $270m of earnings in the Nigerian economy.
